Elder Ronald S. Blumenberg, Sr

Elder Ronald S. Blumenberg, Sr., was born in Chicago Illinois to Elder William and Missionary Mary Blumenberg. Elder Blumenberg’s siblings include, William Jr.(deceased) Mary Delores Reaves, Elder Leon Blumenberg and Pastor Sonjia Dickerson.  Elder Blumenberg was raised in a Christian home and this paradigm became the blueprint for the spiritual journey God planned for his life.

Elder Blumenberg’s parents always encouraged the pursuit of education. After receiving his B.A. degree from Loyola University in 1971, Elder Blumenberg matriculated to University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration where he received his M.A. degree in 1974. Since 2012, Elder Blumenberg has been a member of the University of Chicago Alumni Board of Directors. Elder Blumenberg is presently a candidate for admissions to the McCormick Theological Seminary.

The ministerial journey commenced in 1976 when Elder Blumenberg was ordained by our late founder, Bishop H. W. Goldsberry. In 1978, Bishop Goldsberry appointed Elder Blumenberg to the position of the state Secretary of the Sixth Jurisdiction of Illinois. Bishop Goldsberry encouraged Elder Blumenberg to become involved with the National Church of God in Christ. In 1987, Elder Blumenberg was appointed Assistant General Secretary to the National Church where he faithfully served until 2002. In August, 1990 the former Pastor of Faith Temple, Bishop William H. Allen appointed Elder Blumenberg, Assistant Pastor where he faithfully served for 25 years

Elder Blumenberg has been married to the beautiful and talented Dr. Fanchion Blumenberg for 44 years. He is the father of two biological children, Rhonda Blumenberg-Curry (deceased), and Ronald Stanley Blumenberg II. Two lovely foster daughters were raised in the Blumenberg’s home; Eunice Bell-Toole, married to Cedric Toole and Terry Bell-Ewing, married to Maurice Ewing. God later blessed the family with a loving daughter, Glenda Gadie-Curry who married our talented son-in-law, Terrance Deon Curry.  The overflow of blessings continued with the gifted Anisha Mack Blumenberg, married to our son Ronald Stanley Blumenberg II. Praise God for blessing Elder and Dr. Blumenberg with two amazing grandsons; Terrance Deon Curry and Ronald Stanley Blumenberg III.

Pastor Blumenberg’s ecclesiastical elevation is being celebrated today is because of the grace and mercy of a loving God.
