FAITH BUILDERS

Faith Builders Youth Ministry

OUR MISSION:

It is the mission of the Youth Ministry to build Faithful young lives that will become enthusiastically grounded in the Word of God, and will seek to unconditionally Love and serve the Lord.

GOALS

To launch new lives for Christ
To grow and sustain our youth at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ
To address the challenges that youth face
To serve as a support system that encourages, and leads by example
To help youth see God’s Word come to life—as it connects to theirs

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the Faith Builders youth ministry is to provide youth with an opportunity to worship and praise God with their peers. Given guidance by the ministry team, they will grow in their understanding of the purpose of living a well-rounded saved and Spirit filled life—on a daily basis, not just in church but at home, among family, friends and as active participants in their communities.

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

We believe that young people can bring souls to Christ. The on-going presence of Christian leaders in their lives will make an impact on their faith, their everyday choices, and their daily walk with God. We are committed to holding them up before God in Prayer so that they will experience the reality of His Love for each of them. Through teaching the Word of God and exploring His promises, we will build spirited youth filled with Faith and confidence seeking to know what really matters most in life from a Biblical perspective.

PARENTAL SUPPORT:

Volunteers

The ministry team is comprised of all volunteers. We welcome your ideas and your participation as we come together to design a program that you and your child will be proud of. As we work together on their behalf, we will encourage them to want to come to church and give their hearts to God.

Trips

Your children told us of trips they want to take. We listened. Some have a cost. Please don’t let your child to be disappointed. As parents, start early to put funds away for their activities. We want to involve as many youth as possible in “away from church events.” (Please see the youth calendar). The church will provide funds to help defray some of the costs with an expectation that financial support will also be provided by parents.

Teaching Youth to Save Money, Give Offerings and Pay Tithes

Your children told us of trips they want to take. We listened. Some have a cost. Please don’t let your child to be disappointed. As parents, start early to put funds away for their activities. We want to involve as many youth as possible in “away from church events.” (Please see the youth calendar). The church will provide funds to help defray some of the costs with an expectation that financial support will also be provided by parents.

If your children receive a weekly allowance, sit down with them and have a conversation. Share a teachable moment, letting them know that allowances for the most part are earned contributions that are given to them. Teach them that 10% of what they earn should be set aside for tithes. Monies collected in youth offerings will be turned in to the church. Teach your children to work with you in putting aside money for activities that will have a cost. They will learn math in the process as well as the art of saving and the pure love of giving back to God.
